multicolored abstract painting

Welcome to my website

I became entranced with clay after taking a hand building course at Callanwolde Arts Center over 40 years ago. I quit my job teaching in Atlanta to become a full time potter. I am self taught. I found myself a mentor, hand built for two years, learned to turn on a kick wheel, and studied Sumi-e and Chinese watercolor painting. I fire a gas reduction kiln to 2350 degrees. All my kilns have been self built. All fire differently so its always a challenge. This is my third, not including several rebuilt kilns. This one is a gem. Over the years I have evolved by working in many palettes - browns, blues, greens, copper reds and shades in between.
